Cedar Park Strengthens Aerospace and Defense Sector with Machine Sciences Corporation Expansion

The City of Cedar Park is continuing to strengthen its position in the aerospace and defense industry with plans by Machine Sciences Corporation to establish operations in Cedar Park, bringing an anticipated $31.9 million capital investment and 70 new full-time jobs to the community.
The Cedar Park City Council approved a performance-based economic development agreement with Machine Sciences Corporation, an Oregon-based precision CNC manufacturer with additional operations in Florida. The company specializes in complex, high-precision components for space, aerospace, and defense industries, supporting applications including satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, and advanced defense systems.
Under the agreement, Machine Sciences will lease approximately 48,000 square feet of space at Cedar Tech I, create 70 full-time jobs with an average annual wage of approximately $60,000, and complete a $31.9 million investment in Cedar Park.
“Machine Sciences represents exactly the type of advanced manufacturing investment that strengthens Cedar Park’s economy and builds upon the aerospace and defense ecosystem taking shape in our community,” said Cedar Park Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin. “This opportunity also carries special significance for our City Council, whose members are veterans, military family members, or both. We have a deep appreciation for the industries and skilled workforce that support our nation’s defense, and we’re proud to welcome an investment that creates quality careers while positioning Cedar Park for continued growth in this critical sector.”
Machine Sciences has experienced annual growth of approximately 20 to 30 percent in recent years and recently secured investment to expand its advanced manufacturing capacity in the United States.
The company’s addition to Cedar Park is particularly significant given its role in the broader aerospace and defense supply chain. Precision manufacturing capabilities at this scale and level of specialization remain limited, both in the region and across Texas. Locating these capabilities in Cedar Park places mission-critical manufacturing resources closer to aerospace and defense companies already operating in the area.
“Machine Sciences brings the type of advanced production capability that can fundamentally strengthen Cedar Park’s aerospace, space, and defense ecosystem,” said Cedar Park Chief Economic Development Officer Arthur Jackson. “Its ability to manufacture complex, mission-critical components at scale will support companies already operating in our region, attract additional supply-chain investment, and reinforce Cedar Park’s position as a place where the next generation of aerospace and defense technologies can be built.”
The project further supports Cedar Park’s strategy of recruiting high-value employers and advanced manufacturing operations that diversify the local economy, create quality employment opportunities, and strengthen the City’s commercial tax base.
As aerospace and defense companies increasingly consider proximity to qualified suppliers when evaluating expansion and relocation opportunities, Machine Sciences’ presence is expected to further position Cedar Park as a competitive destination for future investment in space, aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing.
