Cedar Park, Texas – Firefly Aerospace (Nasdaq: FLY), one of the fastest-growing space launch and in-space transportation companies in the nation, is expanding its headquarters operations in Cedar Park. The move reinforces Central Texas’s growing reputation as a hub for aerospace innovation and advanced manufacturing.
Founded to make space more accessible through efficient launch and orbital solutions, Firefly continues to scale its operations to meet demand for commercial, and defense contracts. Its decision to deepen roots in Cedar Park signals confidence in the city and region’s talent, supportive business environment, and long-term commitment to the space economy. Firefly plans to create 300 new high-tech jobs and invest over $3 million in their new facility.
The expansion also builds directly on the Williamson County and City of Cedar Park partnership driving the creation of the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation (CTSDC) — a strategic regional alliance designed to accelerate aerospace R&D, testing, innovation and infrastructure investment. Firefly’s growth complements that vision by anchoring a corridor of innovation connecting private industry, academia, and government partners.
“We couldn’t be more excited, as hard as our team works to attract new business to our city, we work even harder to make sure they feel valued and are taken care of long after they move here.” said Arthur Jackson, Chief Economic Development Officer for Cedar Park. “Firefly’s continued expansion here demonstrates the strength of our regional collaboration with Williamson County in creating the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation and positions Cedar Park at the forefront of Texas’s next generation of space technology.”
As Firefly Aerospace continues to scale manufacturing, payload integration, and launch-support operations, its success story further establishes Cedar Park as a destination where advanced industry can design, test, and build the technologies that will define the future of flight.
