Local Attractions

True to the City of Cedar Park’s Core Values of Community, Service, Innovation, Professionalism, Integrity, Leadership and Fiscal Responsibility, and recognizing rising property values, Cedar Park City Council has lowered the property tax rate last seven consecutive years  It is Cedar Park’s lowest property tax rate in 22 years. The current ad valorem tax rate is 44.7 cents for every $100 of property valuation. Property taxes paid to the City represent less than 20 percent of the overall tax bill.

Part of what helps keep the property tax rate low and yet meet and even exceed our citizens’ quality of life and service level expectations is local sales tax revenue.   Two cents of the sales tax from every dollar spent from shopping and dining in Cedar Park go right back into the community. One cent goes to the City’s General Fund to help fund essential services such as Police, Fire, Parks and our Public Library.  A half cent goes to Community Development for local enhancement projects such as road and intersection improvements, parks improvements and even the Bell Boulevard Redevelopment Project. Three-eighths of a cent goes to Economic Development to help recruit and retain more businesses as well as support our City-owned H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.  One-eighth of a cent goes to the Stormwater Drainage program to prevent future flooding and protect our stormwater drainage infrastructure. Cedar Park has a robust Buy Cedar Park program. Visit http://www.cedarparkshops.com/ to learn more.
Additionally, Cedar Park holds a AA+ Bond Rating, which allows the City to pay down debt faster and at a lower interest rate – saving even more taxpayer dollars.
